School Improvement

The key driver of school improvement for Pathway Trust is an ambitious curriculum, expertly taught; this focus on the classroom is underpinned by support for attendance, behaviour and culture. We have a shared ambition, common principles and a strong culture of shared responsibility for outcomes. But we also recognise the importance of context and therefore balance alignment of evidence-informed trust approaches with sufficient local flexibility to respond to that context. We have a common curriculum in our primary schools and are moving towards a common curriculum in secondary schools.

The principles underpinning our approach to teaching and learning in our schools are clear and aligned. We support the implementation of trust and school strategy with expert support and professional challenge to leaders, integrating longer-term planning at strategy days, networks and leadership meetings with the day to day support of line management and school improvement team visits. The impact of these approaches are then monitored through reviews, data analysis and three formal standards and priorities reviews per year with our CEO and relevant Directors.
